Header voor Openlesdagen 2024

In the Autumn of 2025, you can participate in our Open Course Days during the autumn break from Monday 27 October to Wednesday 29 October, on Wednesday 5 November and on Wednesday 12 November. In the Spring of 2026, you can join us for our Open Course Days during the spring break, from Monday 16 February to Thursday 19 February. During these days, our campuses are open for you. The program includes classes and workshops from all 33 bachelor's degree programs.

What can you expect?

You’ll take a seat in the lecture hall, among the students. Not online, but the real thing! Don't be alarmed: the pace is fast, and you may not have all the necessary prior knowledge, so it's perfectly normal if you can't follow everything. However, you’ll be able to soak up the atmosphere and ask any questions to current students. Here’s what there is to do:

  • Lectures from all our 33 bachelor's programs
  • 'Ready for Uni' workshops on study guidance and study selection

FAQ

Do I need to bring anything to the Open Course Days?

Be sure to bring a pen and paper! This will allow you to practise taking good notes. If you're attending an open class for the 'Revalidatiewetenschappen en Kinesitherapie' or 'Lichamelijke Opvoeding en Bewegingswetenschappen' programs, you'll need specific sportswear. Make sure to check the additional information provided for these sessions.

What if a class is marked as 'sold out'?

You can always sign up for the waiting list. In the meantime, feel free to register for another class, even if it’s not a class from a program you wish to follow in the future. This way, you can still get to know the VUB campus, experience university-style teaching, and meet some of our lecturers.

Are the classes not too difficult?

Some of the classes during the Open Course Days build on material from previous years, so it’s perfectly normal if you don’t understand everything. Don’t let this discourage you! The main goal is to give you an idea of what the lessons and campus life are like.

Do you have any questions about a specific course or about VUB in general?

Be sure to attend one of our Open Days! Professors and students will be available to answer all your questions. You can find more information here.
