Say yes to the dress

Get engaged and kill two birds with one stone? With Real Brides non-profit organization it is possible! Not only do you support a women's organization of your choice, but you also contribute to a more inclusive society and a circular economy. All you need is a wedding dress...

In 2018, VUB alumna Ruth got the idea to give old wedding dresses a second life by selling them second-hand and donating sixty percent of the proceeds to charity. She chose four women's organizations to choose from when donating a dress: Think Pink, Mothers For Mothers, ANBN and Cherut. With VUB's help in starting the project, the sale of wedding dresses could begin in 2019. In the atelier in Dilbeek, all dresses will be transformed into brand new, unique pieces!

Buying or donating a wedding dress brings only benefits: you support a good cause, you support the creation of sustainable clothing, and you contribute to a more inclusive society! Because whether you're rich or poor, Real Brides makes wedding dresses for everyone.

Whether you are a buyer or donate a dress, you are supporting the organization in both ways. Maybe you're not married yet, but you know someone who doesn't know what to do with her wedding dress? Spread the word and help ensure that an old dress can make someone's big night magical again!
