With this first Report to Society, VUB is demonstrating how it is working on three policies: well-being, equality and sustainability. You can read what VUB stands for and how this is put into practice, with examples of real projects and initiatives. The list in the report is not exhaustive.
Ethical and responsible
Ethical and responsible conduct – essential to the social role of a university – are also covered in the report. Due diligence is the starting point of the operation, and is also the starting point of the new European directives on transparent reporting (the EU CSRD). We have therefore chosen to work on this voluntarily through this first external report. In a sustainability context, this means the negative impact on people and the environment is mapped out and limited as much as possible, in VUB’s own operations and those of its suppliers, students and staff.
