Discover the world of artificial intelligence with amai!
Artificial intelligence is the future. One high-tech innovation follows the next at a rapid pace. Combine a clever piece of AI know-how with the biggest social challenges and who knows, we might be closer to the solutions than we think... AMAI already sets a good example!
The domain of artificial intelligence seems inaccessible to the 'ordinary citizen' and only understandable to the greatest Einsteins among us. The knowledge centre Data & Society and Scivil, the knowledge centre for Citizen Science, want to break through that barrier with AMAI! The focus of the initiative is on cooperation between citizens, experts and domain organisations. Together, the participants search for solutions to social problems related to climate, health, mobility or work.
How does that work, you might ask? On the website amai.vlaanderen, you can share your questions and thoughts but also your own ideas about AI applications with the AMAI! community. You categorise your question or idea within one of the four social themes and can also comment on the other ideas. In the second phase of the project, organisations and experts sit down together to further develop the proposals. Four ideas will then be selected that will receive financial support and finally be developed by 2022.
Participating in artificial intelligence suddenly becomes much easier thanks to AMAI! Are you curious, or has an AI light already gone on in your head and made you start brainstorming? Then surf to the website and share your ideas with the world.

*As an Urban Engaged University, we call upon our VUB community to help build a better world through social engagement. On the "The World Needs You" platform, the VUB collects socially meaningful projects on which students, staff, alumni and sympathisers can collaborate. These projects do not represent the university. The initiatives and communication are the responsibility of the project organisers and do not represent the university's position.
