Save Djalali
Save Dr. Djalali’s life: “Any day could be my last”
It seems like a screenplay, but sadly it’s a true and topical story. Ahmadreza Djalali, a Swedish/Iranian emergency doctor and visiting professor at VUB, has been in an Iranian prison for over four years. However, he is not a criminal. The Iranian authorities charged him with espionage and arrested him without a warrant while he was on a working trip to Iran.
What can you do?
You are not standing on the sidelines. You can make a difference for Professor Djalali. A simple email or letter to the Iranian authorities shows that the world is watching. Adding your signature to the online petition makes that message even louder.
How do you do that? Very easily. You can find all the information on Amnesty International’s website.
*As an Urban Engaged University, we call upon our VUB community to help build a better world through social engagement. On the "The World Needs You" platform, the VUB collects socially meaningful projects on which students, staff, alumni and sympathisers can collaborate. These projects do not represent the university. The initiatives and communication are the responsibility of the project organisers and do not represent the university's position.
