The socio-economic background of a student in Belgium today still has too great an impact on his or her school career. The gap between the high-achieving and low-achieving group due to their social background is still too big. The VUB wants to tackle that problem through the Teach for Belgium project, which deploys strong teachers in secondary schools. Working for Teach for Belgium means a big social impact and a very diverse job!
Teach for Belgium selects, trains and supports motivated people who want to have a positive impact on society. As a strong VUB graduate with a passion for STEM, Dutch or French, you fit perfectly in this list! The project will train you over a period of 2 years to become a passionate and supportive teacher who will ensure that all students have access to quality education. The start of the program takes place in the summer. During that time, you can count on training weekends around teaching, leadership skills, student follow-up and a personal tutor to guide you in your journey. In addition, you will foster collaboration with all players in the education system. This is a major influence in moving the system in the positive direction. You are...
- In possession of a diploma (at least before the end of the current academic year), delivered by an institution of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels or of the Flemish Community or in possession of a similar diploma recognized by the FWB/Flemish Community
- An enthusiastic VUB graduate who wants to pass on your passion for mathematics, science, French or Dutch
You have
- A passive knowledge of English and a fluent knowledge of Dutch (or French)
