Academic Opening Ceremony

What knowledge, skills and values should universities be passing on to young people today? 

We are living in a time when artificial intelligence and rapid societal change are forcing us to rethink some of our most fundamental questions. What does learning mean when knowledge is always within reach? Which skills become more valuable as technology takes over more tasks? And what role should the university play in a world that is changing faster than ever?

On 22 September, we will officially open the new academic year by bringing together students, professors, teachers, business leaders, policymakers and other partners from across the VUB community to explore questions that will shape not only the future of education, knowledge and society, but above all the future of young people.
