Together, we defend and celebrate the rights of LGBTQIA+ communities

Pride as a statement
Together, we take to the streets of central Brussels. Not only to celebrate, but also to make visible what we stand for as universities.

The freedom to be who you are, to love who you love, and to make decisions about your own body. For us, freedom is not a passive value, but an active, humanist and democratic principle that we live, embody and defend — even when it comes under pressure.

This year, together we say: “Pride Lights Up The Darkness.” In a context of global uncertainty and concerning trends, we resolutely choose light, knowledge, love and a critical voice.

VUB and ULB: 8 years together, 30 years of Pride
Brussels Pride has existed for over 30 years and has grown into a colourful celebration of visibility, connection and solidarity for LGBTQIA+ communities. This year marks our eighth participation, which we do with conviction and joy.

With our joint float, we make our way through the centre of Brussels, surrounded by music, dance and a sea of colour. We celebrate who we are, what we stand for and, above all, that freedom can also be heard, laughed and moved.

Walk, celebrate and shine with us at Brussels Pride 2026.
