Lecture "Francisco Ferrer" by Jean-Claude Idée, Saint-Verhaegen guided walk, commemoration and torchlight procession

• 17u00 Guided St-Verhagen walk with former university archivist (VUB) Frank Scheelings, rendezvous at the Minerva Fountain on the Grand Sablon.

• 18u00 Reading of the theatre play "Francisco Ferrer - Vive l'École Moderne!" by Jean-Claude Idée, Dupréel Hall, Building S, Johannalaan 44 in 1050 Brussels.

• 19u30 Commemoration, torchlight procession & glass of fraternity and solidarity offered by l'Union des Anciens Etudiants.

The procession leaves at the Dupréel Hall (44 Johannalaan) and passes the statues of Théodore Verhaegen and Francisco Ferrer (Rooseveltlaan) before making its way to Square G (Solbosch campus). From Square G, the procession moves with torches to the VUB campus, for a tribute to the monument De Stap near the Braem building at 20h45. The procession will end at La Maison de l'UAE (ULB campus de la Plaine) where we will raise a glass to fraternity from 21h15.

Bar Pilar on the VUB campus will host the VUB staff party at the same time. ULB colleagues are most welcome. Admission 5 euros to benefit the Caroline Fund for Students.

• 8h45 Departure of buses at Ixelles town hall.  
• 9h15 Speeches and floral tributes at the Brussels cemetery at the graves of Théodore Verhaegen, Frans Kufferath and Henri La Fontaine.
  
  Cimetière de Bruxelles, 1140 Brussels.
• 10h15 Ceremony and floral tribute at the National Shooting Range - Honour Court of the executed.
  
  Colonel Bourgstraat 102 in 1030 Brussels.
• 11h15 Departure of buses to Brussels Town Hall.
• 12h00 Joint session VUB-ULB in the Gothic Hall of Brussels City Hall, at the invitation of the two rectors and the mayor of Brussels Philippe Close. 
• 13h30 Glass of Friendship in the Militia Hall of City Hall.

From noon, students of the Brussels Student Society of the VUB and l'Association des Cercles étudiants of ULB will gather on the Grand Sablon, where we will join them. The celebration will end on the steps of the Bourse where we will deploy the universities' anthems around 5pm: Lied van geen taal and Le Semeur.
