The new VUB AI Experience Center is a space to experiment with AI and robotics and to produce technological solutions, and allows participants to strengthen their digital skills. It’s aimed at companies, tech entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers and the general public. The opening this week will include demonstrations in which AI and robotics will be applied in an innovative way: an autonomous wheelchair, colloquial language for robots, smart energy grids and intelligent foot prostheses, for example. The complete list is attached.
The opening event is at 16.00 on Thursday 21 November. If you would like an earlier preview, please contact the VUB press office to arrange a personal tour. The VUB AI Experience Center is on the -1 floor of Pleinlaan 9, 1050 Brussels.
The centre was founded by four VUB research groups: the Artificial Intelligence Lab, Brussels Human Robotic research centre (BruBotics), Studies in Media, Innovation and Technology (SMIT) and Department of Electronics and Informatics (ETRO).
Its goal is ambitious: to become a digital innovation centre for artificial intelligence with international ambitions and local impact. It will make clear and help realise the unique opportunities that AI and robotics offer to the general public and to companies, start-ups, non-profits and other universities and knowledge centres.
