On bare feet
From September 2025, the VUB opens its brand-new Centre for Martial Arts and Science (CEMAS) — an 800 m² facility dedicated to martial arts. Half of the space is fitted with mats, the other half is designed for boxing. Federations, clubs and individual practitioners can all benefit from this investment by the VUB. For combat sport clubs, federations and enthusiasts
At the VUB, you are welcome not only to rent our state-of-the-art martial arts halls or join our activities, but also to benefit from our academic support through CEMAS. Rent the Martial Arts Hall (Dojo)
Practical Information
For individual rentals of the dojo by the hour, at least one participant must hold a valid VUB Sports Card. You can request individual rentals up to three times. For user agreements (long-term rentals via contract), a Sports Card is not required.
In the boxing facilities, you can:
- join one of the clubs that train there,
- take part in VUB Sports activities with your Sports Card, or
- train individually during open gym hours.
Just like in the swimming pool, you’ll need to book your session in advance via the VUB Sport app.
Payment can be made per visit by purchasing a ticket at the front desk (€5.6 per session) or through your Sports Card, which can be topped up with 10 boxing sessions:
- VUB students and staff: €44.9
- Alumni and partners: €47.3
- Others: €48.4
Please respect the internal rules and follow the guidelines of the coach on duty in the boxing hall.

In the weekend, starting on Fridays at 17h and ending on Sunday at 21h) the normal rate is applied for all. With the "last minute exception" as a rule : on the day itself VUB students can rent the remaining available facilities at Student Peak rate.
