EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR EVERY CHILD THANKS TO TADA

As a child, did you ever dream about what you wanted to be when you grew up? Business(wo)man, hairdresser, lawyer or celebrity chef, the sky is the limit! But to make those dreams come true, the right tools have to be given to every child. TADA shows children from socially and economically vulnerable neighbourhoods in Brussels what their possibilities are and that no challenge need be too big for them!

TADA is a weekend school that, on Saturdays throughout the school year, gives children from 10 to 14 years the opportunity to discover and develop their interests and competences. Lawyers, bakers, teachers and professionals from every field present their professions so that the youngsters can get an idea of what they are exactly. This should help them discover their passions and talents and what they want to do later on. When they are motivated to develop their skills, this of course also gives a big boost to the youngsters' self-confidence.

Every child deserves the chance to develop and use his or her talents optimally, also those who come from the more vulnerable neighbourhoods of our capital. TADA organises the interactive teaching days in schools from Molenbeek, Schaarbeek and Sint-Joost-ten-Node, districts that are socio-economically vulnerable and offer little prospect of a future. Brussels takes its cue from an initiative in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 2012, when a weekend school opened to help disadvantaged young people. It is important to fight social inequality and everything starts with education!

What can you do to help? There are already more than 600 children participating each week and it is important that everything continues to run smoothly. TADA needs around 100 volunteers every Saturday to accompany trips to advertising agencies, companies, law courts and so on. So does the idea of activating young people with little future prospects and helping to build an inclusive society make you enthusiastic? Then TADA needs your help now!
