Typical example of a free researcher

The French mathematician, theoretical physicist, engineer and scientific philosopher Henri Poincaré (1854 - 1912) was the typical example of a free researcher who achieved numerous mathematical and scientific breakthroughs through his free thinking. In 1909, during the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of our mother university ULB, he expressed the principle of free enquiry, on which he based his thinking, succinctly. See underneath:
