On August 5, 2022, it became silent. The entire VUB community lost its honorary rector, Caroline Pauwels. Today, we commemorate her. She consistently chose possibilism, humanism, freedom, equality, and interconnectedness. You could see it in her policies, but also in her personality and her words. Her words haven't lost their strength a year later, on the contrary, they remain motivating, activating, inspiring, and hopeful.
