The VUB/Flagey film festival 'The World Needs You' kicked off on Monday 19 April at noon with the first of six themed weeks: Partnership. Or: how we can achieve our goals for a sustainable world through collaboration. Besides engaging films, we also share stories of purpose with inspiring VUB’ers, Brusseleirs, projects and their partners. Stronger together!

For six weeks, the VUB Community can watch inspiring and engaging films thanks to the collaboration with Flagey and some inspiring curators. Every week a different theme, every week new films. All in the context of 'The World Needs You'. Order your (free) ticket on the film festival's website. You will receive an e-mail with your personal link for six weeks of film joy.

This week's curators are the two partners of the film festival: rector Caroline Pauwels of the VUB and general and artistic director Gilles Ledure of Flagey. They chose respectively 'The Salt of The Earth' and 'Interstellar' as the opener of the 'The World Needs You Film Festival'. Two films in dialogue. The now and the future. Docu and fiction. The Salt of The Earth' shows the beauty of man and the world today, but also how we do not always deal with it in a sustainable way. Yet there is hope. Interstellar' is set in a dystopian future, but shows how we can take our future into our own hands.

The whole week we also share inspiring stories of VUB students and Brussels projects in which Partnership is central.
