At VUB, student representation has a long standing tradition. Students truly participate in governing institutions, and manage to have an impact on the university's policy. Over the last two years, the input of international students has significantly risen through the ISP. The international student platform is thé opportunity for international students to exercise some influence within the university.

A Table of 12

A maximum of 12 members are selected by the Student Council upon advice by the International Relations and Mobility Office (IRMO). They screen and discuss the motivation of the candidates. IRMO also guides the international student representatives along the way. If there are more applicants than available seats, the remaining candidates are enlisted as possible successors. They may be called upon when there are less than twelve active members in the ISP.

Engaging as an international student representative may add an unexpected little extra to a study abroad experience. You get to know a lot of interesting people, and you can help fellow students based on your own international experience. Although VUB is an open-minded university, truly entering minds of people with different backgrounds and cultures is a challenge, and a process of mutual approach. Sharing your peculiar experience and international opinion is a crucial contibution in the continuous development of our university.
