New generation of VUB fellows
On 3 June 2025, VUB introduced its new generation of fellows during a festive ceremony at the University Foundation in Brussels. Over the coming years, 24 inspiring individuals from diverse sectors will act as ambassadors, promoting the core values of VUB and strengthening the link between science and society.

Fellowship Networking Cocktail
On Thursday 6 November 2025, the Fellowship Networking Cocktail brought together a selection of fellows, honorary fellows, industry partners and researchers for an inspiring networking event at the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (VKI). Participants were given a unique behind-the-scenes look at this international research and education centre, renowned for its cutting-edge research in aerodynamics, space, turbomachinery and environmental and industrial applications.
The evening opened with a presentation by VUB honorary fellow and Director of VKI Peter Grognard, followed by a guided tour of the institute’s exceptional research facilities and a walking dinner.

Meet our fellows
Our fellows range from business leaders, social entrepreneurs, community activists, researchers, scientists to artists and athletes. Each and every one of them stands out for their extraordinary social merits. As such, they are a great source of inspiration for our academics and students. But not only that: they also act as our ambassadors and help spread our university's philosophy. All of them share a strong belief in cultural diversity and gender equality. Law and Criminology Fellows
The Faculty of Law and Criminology trains students to become professionals specialising in different fields of law and criminology. Our fellows contribute with their knowledge to the training of new professionals through guest lectures, internships, company visits and as ambassadors for the VUB.
Psychology and Educational Sciences Fellows
The fellows of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences are committed to supporting academic teaching programmes and research projects. They share their views on socially relevant subjects, provide guest lectures and support students to find internships.
Arts and Humanities Fellows
With their background in art, philosophy, culture or the media, the fellows of the Faculty of Languages and Humanities play a crucial role in contemporary social debates. As ambassadors, they contribute to VUB’s teaching and research programmes and facilitate cooperation with organisations outside the university.
Movement and Rehabilitation Fellows
The faculty of Physical education and Physiotherapy is a ‘faculty in motion’, with a focus on health and healthy movement, with multidisciplinary approaches ranging from disturbed performance to high level sports performance. Its fellows completely fit these objectives, as each of them is ‘in motion’ too.
UMC Fellows
The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy is committed to a professional world where science is promoted. The UZ Brussel, the faculty and Erasmus College work closely together.The UMC Fellows are known for their professionalism in the healthcare sector. This gives VUB a platform of prominent members in the academic, medical and civil world.
Science Fellows
The Faculty of Sciences and Bioengineering Sciences gathers research and training in the fields of biology, bioengineering, chemistry, computer science, geography, mathematics, physics and astronomy. Our fellows are broadly committed to our faculty and contribute to internship placements, company visits, joint research projects and guest lectures.
Institute for European Studies Fellows
The Institute for European Studies (IES) is an academic Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and a policy think tank that focuses on the European Union in an international setting. The Institute advances academic education and research in various disciplines, and provides services to policy-makers, scholars, stakeholders and the general public.
