A pedagogical, neutral school environment for Arabic lessons
Arabic is a language spoken worldwide. To provide children and youngsters with a pedagogical, neutral school environment, we want to give them the opportunity to study Arabic in a substantiated, high-quality manner. Instructors teach children and young people about relevant social issues and Arab, Western, and intercultural values. This helps them develop a positive image of their own identity.
Fast forward to:
For whom and by whom?

Children between 6 and 15 years
- Refugees
- Children with an Arabic language background
- Children from mixed or different linguistic backgrounds than Arabic
Instructors
Highly qualified teachers with refugee backgrounds collaborate on this project. They were forced to flee their homeland because of a war situation.

Objectives
-
Creating a neutral, accessible learning platform
Children can learn the Arabic language in a scholastic environment. They do this through a unique newly designed curriculum, free of religion and supported by academics.
-
Helping shape children's cultural identity
Children are given the tools to build their own cultural identity. This makes them feel that they belong to a community (again). Self-confidence about personal values and culture leads to a positive self-image. Openness toward different cultures leads to tolerance.
-
Offering employment to political refugees
People who were professionally active in Syria and Iraq get an opportunity to use their expertise again. They do this in the discipline in which they were educated in their original country. By applying their expertise, this time in a Western context, the instructors get to know the workplace and increase their market value.
