Become a global changemaker in gender equality and SRHR*

Are you a passionate VUBer who fights for gender equality and SRHR? Do you love campaigning? Are you bitten by the travel bug and do you want to contribute to a powerful international movement? Then the CHanGE project needs you!

*Sexual and reproductive health and rights

CHanGE (Campaign for sexual Health and Gender Equality) is a UCOS project that focuses on gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). It mobilises a wide audience who may or may not be informed about gender, SRHR and inequality. To realise this, CHanGE is looking for you, committed VUBer, who, with 11 fellow students and CHanGE partners, wants to make a difference through a research trip and a Belgian campaign.

As a passionate VUBer, you’ll get to know 11 fellow students during a preparatory programme, with whom you’ll form a close-knit group. In this group you’ll share your knowledge about gender and SRHR, international solidarity, running campaigns… and ignite each other’s campaigning fire. After the preparatory programme, you’ll travel abroad in three small groups. During this research trip, you’ll be inspired by strong individuals and organisations working on change in the fields of gender and SRHR. Impressive travel destinations such as DR Congo, Uganda, India, Cuba, Morocco and Lebanon have been on the agenda in past years.

You’ll use the inspiration gained overseas for the Belgian campaign that you’ll then build. With the two other groups, you’ll find a theme that links the stories from the three countries with the Belgian context. You’ll get to work via this innovative campaign, spread your stories and propose what we can learn in Belgium. You’ll become a real CHanGE-maker and give the project the voice it deserves in society!
