When can you go on exchange during your studies?
Sustainable Land Management students can go on exchange during master year 2 (entire academic year or one of both semesters) or do an internship for 5 ECTS.
Application for the exchange happens during the first semester of the academic year prior to the intended exchange period. Contact your exchange coordinator for more details.
Conditions to go on exchange
Following conditions must be met in order to be accepted for an international exchange:
- You need to have obtained the bachelor's degree before leaving. When you have to take one or more bachelor exams in second session, the definitive approval can only be given after the deliberation in second session.
- You need to have obtained a weighted average of at least 50% (of all ECTS registered in the cycle).
- You need to not have failed more than 10 ECTS of master courses.
All applications will be examined, evaluated and ranked by FACIR.
How to apply for an exchange?
You can submit your application through the online form that will be sent to all students on CANVAS before the deadline of February 15th (EU-destinations) or December 15th (non-EU destinations).
After submitting the form you need to contact your Exchange Coordinator Prof. dr. Elga Salvadore (+ TIME coordinator when necessary) before the 1st semester of the academic year prior to the intended exchange period and indicate your favorite foreign destination (see list below) + hand in a first overview of your study results.
Afterwards, you and the exchange coordinator need to make a proposal for a Learning Agreement (LA) (your study units at VUB versus the study units at the foreign host university).
