With aquatic systems under threat, there's a growing need for globally minded professionals in marine and freshwater sciences. The Oceans & Lakes program trains these professionals. Our international student body provides diverse perspectives and access to a broad network in Belgium and beyond. The master programme itself also connects its students with its extensive network, including Global South partners, thus helping students build their professional path both locally and internationally

What professions will it allow you to enter?

Upon graduating from our master programme, there are many different jobs and sectors your may end up in. You can go on to do research on a specific marine or lacustrine related topic. Or what about becoming a teacher? You can also work for an NGO, or a governmental organization. Going into the private field or the industry is also an option. Some jobs our graduates are involved in are for example conservationist, consultant, project manager, fisheries policy officer, biodiversity expert, environmental manager, etc. The list is long..
