When can you go on exchange during your studies?
You can go on exchange in the first semester of Bachelor year 3.
Conditions to go on exchange
Bachelor
You can go on exchange when you have passed all courses of bachelor year 1 and all courses of bachelor year 2 that are taught during the semester in which you will go abroad.
How to apply for an exchange?
Nomination EU destination
- For study exchange, select your favorite destination from the list below and, ideally, also a back-up destination.
- Compile your nomination file:
- Destination (+ back-up) and semester
- Motivation letter (max. 1 page in English). This letter should consist of a personal and academic motivation.
- Transcript of records
- Send your application to your exchange coordinator Prof. Beat Signer
- Deadline is February 23rd
Nomination non-EU destination
- Select your top destination from this website and ideally a back-up destination as well.
- Compile your nomination file:
- Destination (+ back-up) and semester
- Motivation letter (max. 1 page in English). This letter should consist of a personal and academic motivation.
- Transcript of records
- Select one back-up EU destination from the list below
- Send your application to your exchange coordinator Prof. Beat Signer
- Deadline is December 12th
Learning agreement
After you have been nominated, you will have to draw up a learning agreement.
In your learning agreement, you propose courses at the host university and you match them with the courses you are replacing at VUB. Make sure to discuss your proposal with your exchange coordinator.
