Congratulations on being accepted at the VUB!

What's next? This page will guide you through several steps to go from being accepted to being enrolled at our university.

We will provide more information regarding applying for a student visa, preparing your stay and the enrolment itself.

If you are on this page, this means you received the email regarding your conditional acceptance. Please make sure to download the included attachment as it contains your letter of acceptance.

This letter of acceptance is one of the main documents you need to submit your visa application at the Belgian Embassy or Consular Post in your country.

Please reply to the email with the contact information of the embassy or consular post at which you will submit your visa application. We will confirm your acceptance directly to help speed up the process.

Even though there is currently a global pandemic, we would still urge you to do this as we do not yet know when visas will be issued once more. In the meantime we will continue confirming your acceptance.

More detailed information on the different kinds of visa and their requirements may be found on this page of our website.

In order to get a student visa, you will need to prove that you have sufficient financial means.

Confirming the authenticity of your diploma

What's next? This page will guide you through several steps to go from being accepted to being enrolled at our university.

We will provide more information below regarding the enrolment, tuition fees, preparing your stay, etc.

We will keep this page updated continuously as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. As of now we expect the enrolments to be fully online for the academic year 2021-2022.

How?

  1. You do not need to pass by pass by our office in person to finalise your enrolment.

Please contact your school so they may confirm your diploma directly to admissions@vub.be . This will allow us to verify your information and allow us to continue with your enrolment.
  2. When your diploma has been confirmed, please allow us a few working days to prepare your enrolment.
  3. Once confirmed we will send you an email so you can sign your online enrolment contract. This is your formal enrolment.
  4. The invoice is sent to your VUB email address after enrolling.

When?

The enrolment period starts on the 1st of July. We will then be able to revise your application file a final time and allow you to sign the enrolment contract.

We advise you to have your school confirm your graduation before the start of the academic year (14th of September).

After enrolling, we will send the invoice to your new VUB email address. You should transfer the fees via bank transfer. Please be careful to use the correct personal reference.

Please note that tuition fees are owed when you sign the online contract. How much you will actually pay mainly depends on the programme you will follow and your nationality.

You may find more information on our tuition fees on this webpage.

Our tuition fees are calculated by charging a fixed amount every academic year you (re-)enroll and a variable fee per credit that you take. For example, the fixed fee is €1000 and the variable fee is €25 per ECTS for a programme of 60 ECTS in total, you will pay (€25 x 60)+€1000 = €2500.

You should also note that these tuition fees are liable to change per academic year. Please visit the webpage above for more information.
