From 20 portraits to hundreds of stories

The free photo exhibition 'Women shaping Science' forms the visual heart of the campaign. It starts with 20 portraits of female researchers, captured by Belgian photographer Lieve Blancquaert.

The images showcase women who conduct research, excel, take leadership, and share their expertise with society. Together, they symbolize the hundreds of women driving science forward every day at VUB: in labs and research centers, lecture halls, policy rooms, and the public debate.

VUB-Tomorrow: Women at the forefront of Research

VUB Tomorrow – VUB’s digital magazine that digs deeper and shares inspiring stories about research shaping our future – shines a spotlight on VUB women in its February special.

Not only does the campaign highlight women conducting top-level research, it also showcases women in leadership. They sit on governing boards, help steer the university’s direction, and shape the very framework in which education and research thrive.
