The Belgian governments tightened the corona measures on Friday 30 October: Belgium goes into lockdown until 13 December. The VUB is taking these measures to heart. The bottom line is that campus activities are not allowed. Until 30 November, all educational activities will take place exclusively online. Afterwards, our intention is to return to 'code red' which allows for some contact activities for certain student groups. Students and staff can read more at staff.vub.be and student.vub.be.
The aim of these measures is to limit the number of infections and hospital admissions, so that the healthcare sector and the UZ Brussel can fulfill their important task.
Rector Caroline Pauwels in an email to students and staff:
“Our country is facing its greatest challenge in recent history. The heart of the challenge partly takes place on one of our campuses. Our people at UZ Brussel and the entire health-care sector are giving their all to help other people. So, it’s up to us to make sure that they can do their work and keep going with support. That is why we must abide by the measures strictly. Everyone’s efforts are now much needed and we know we can count on each and every one of you.”
